libsodium Security

Image Metadata Purger
EXIF, GPS, and device fingerprints stripped on insert. Images re-sealed as PNG, then encrypted as grim://attachment/ refs.

Standalone encrypted backup envelopes with KDF metadata in the header. Restore on a clean machine with your master password.
Local-First, No Cloud
No accounts, no sync servers. Vault lives at %APPDATA%\GrimLedger (Windows), ~/.local/share (Linux), or ~/Library (macOS).
Security Model
- Master password verified via encrypted token — never stored plaintext
- Auto-lock after inactivity + manual lock; keys zeroed on lock
- Prepared SQL only; notes decrypted on demand
- Export to .md is plaintext by design — operator discretion required
Lost master passwords cannot be recovered — back up your vault.

macOS / Linux: No installer here — follow the build and install instructions on GitHub.
